I was very disappointed upon my husband opening this on our Anniversary as it was tarnished. I had opened the knife upon receiving it as I wanted to ensure that the engraving was correct. It was exactly as descibed - absolutely beautiful! I then packaged it back up the way it was received...inside a plastic bag & then inside the box. I don't know if allowing air into the bag is was what caused the tarnishing. I would advise others to not open the bag or not order ahead of the time it is to be opened if purchased as a gift. We are now hoping that we can find a product to remove the tarnish.
